Assess your fitness level
One of the toughest things about starting a fitness program is keeping at it. Often we start a fitness program and want to see results’ quickly. However seeing significant changes often takes time. Remember, your body didn’t get in this shape overnight, so it will take a while to get the changes you are looking for.
There are three aspects to fitness:strength,flexibility, and the abilities of your cardiovascular systems - and it takes all three to be truly fit. Physical fitness isn't just about how far you can run or how much you can lift--just because a person excels in one area such as weight lifting, doesn’t mean they have good flexibility or a good cardiovascular system.
It's a good idea to write downyour baseline fitness levels to help you measure your progress as you become more fit.
Why take the time to do this?
oYou may lose inches and your clothes fit better as your muscles become more toned however you may not see any changes in the scale.
oNot seeing the results as quickly as you want often frustrates people, so recording your baseline fitness levels will help you to see the progress you are making. Such as waling longer or faster without having to take as many breaks.
